I collect little things all the time. Anything from cool club flyers with Bridget Bardot on them (love her!), to little notes written by a friend, photos, dried flowers, pretty clothing tags, all kinds of random precious things that usually just go in a box or get taped to my wall. I would love to display them in a fanciful way, but usually it seems I never have time, or that shadow box display is just too expensive and permanent for my taste and need.
I stumbled on this very cute DIY keepsake holder and display book hack by Sweet Paul.Totally presh!
I think you can kick it up a notch, by painting the inside cover a bold color or gluing fabric inside or art paper. A little more time on a lazy Sunday and you could even take a long thread with a needle through each page to add more structure, so it unfolds like a bridge. Whats really cool is, when you've filled it up with all your treasures you can slam it shut, tie it with a pretty ribbon and store away for memory lane or give as gifts to a loved one.
Hm, I think this may the perfect Valentines, Anniversary, Mothers and Fathers day gift! Gifts from the heart, always remind us of all the good things in life.
Perfect places to purchase pretty books: Thrifts stores, bargin bin isles at Barnes and Nobles, garage sales (perhaps even your own garage ;)
Try it out, send me your pics if you do! mers@thelocallife.com
